Eluid Kipchoge, the course record holder of the Haspa Marathon Hamburg (2:05:30) and 2013 champion will be competing at the BMW Berlin Marathon on September 27, 2015. The world record-course in Berlin will see the clash of three superstars on the marathon scene. Two of Eluid’s main competitors in Berlin will be Emmanuel Mutai and Geoffrey Mutai (not related).
It will be up to these three Kenian runners to determine whoever is the best marathoner on this planet. Emmanuel Mutai might want to claim revenge, as he finished second in Berlin in 2014 clocking 2:03:13 – just twenty seconds behind Dennis Kimetto, who ran a world record (2:02:57) that day. Geoffrey Mutai is a 2:03 marathon guy as well – one of his greatest career achievements is winning the New York City Marathon.
We’ll have our eyes set on Eluid, who we have already witnessed finishing first in Hamburg. Within the past 10 months he has won the Chicago Marathon as well as the London Marathon. He will welcome the competition and let them push him to a very fast finishing time – it’s going to be a great race!
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for everyone competing at the BMW Berlin Marathon!
